Richard Capper

Richard Capper is the Director of Product Marketing and Research Segments for Illumina in EMEA. In his almost 10 years with Illumina, he has held a number of roles in Service and Support particularly focusing on clinical applications in reproductive health, oncology and whole genome sequencing before moving to his current role in marketing. In addition to responsibility for Illumina products in EMEA he has spent the last 2 years leading Illumina’s commercial readiness for IVDR. 



Jason Betley

Jason Betley is Illumina’s VP of Advanced Science, SBS Chemistry. This group of 45 scientists is responsible for all chemistry improvements to Illumina’s core sequencing chemistry (SBS). He holds a Ph.D. in Synthetic Organic Chemistry from the University of Sheffield UK, and did post-doc research in the labs of Marv Caruthers (University of Colorado, Boulder), sponsored by Agilent. After spells in working for AdproTech, ProMetic and Smiths Diagnostics, he joined Illumina in 2009, and has been involved in all of the sequencing products launched since then (HiSeq, MiSeq, NovaSeq etc), as well as many library prep products.
