Overview

Illumina miRNA Prep enables robust miRNA-specific library preparation while minimizing reaction biases and eliminating adapter dimers. Unique Molecular Identifiers (UMIs) tag each miRNA at an early stage, removing PCR and sequencing biases.

No, Illumina miRNA Prep is designed to work with Illumina miRNA UD Index Plates A-D and is not compatible with other Illumina RNA UDI plates.

The kit is optimized to capture small RNAs in the 18-40 base range. Other small RNAs that are compatible with Illumina miRNA Prep include PIWA-interacting RNA (piRNA), small interfering RNA (siRNA), and transfer RNA-derived small RNA (tsRNA).
