Prof. Richard Rosenquist Brandell, Professor of Clinical Genetics, Karolinska Institutet
Richard Rosenquist Brandell is Professor of Clinical Genetics at the Department of Molecular Medicine and Surgery, Karolinska Institutet and Senior Physician in Clinical Genetics at Karolinska University Hospital, Sweden. He received his medical degree and PhD at Umeå University, Sweden and completed a postdoc at the Department of Pathology, Frankfurt am Main, Germany, then became specialist in Clinical Genetics in 2004.
The evolution of technologies used to characterize hematological malignancies has driven progress in clinical cancer research. Starting with FISH, PCR and microarrays, rapid technology development has delivered powerful next-generation sequencing (NGS) tools which have the potential to transform clinical diagnostics.
Watch Prof. Richard Rosenquist Brandell present the whole genome sequencing work being done at SciLifeLab in Sweden to implement precision medicine at a national level.
“Clinical implementation of whole-genome sequencing in hematological malignancies Are we there yet?” recorded at EAHP (European Association for Haematopathology) 2018, Edinburgh.
