Webinar Hosted by ASAS and in conversation with NEOGEN and Gencove:
A New Era for Commercial Breeders and Producers Begins with Sequencing-based Whole Genome and Genotyping Technology
Webinar Objectives:
J R Tait, Ph.D.
Director of Genetics Product Development
NEOGEN Corporation
"A New Era for Commercial Breeders and Producers Begins with Sequencing-based Whole Genome and Genotyping Technology"
The agricultural community has long relied on NEOGEN for innovative genomic technologies. In this presentation, Dr. Tait will describe the benefits of using medium-density platforms that deliver 30,000 to 100,000 SNPs to a new technology providing insight into millions of genomic variants. The combined whole genome and genotyping product, called InfiniSEEK™, begins a new era of genomic prediction and selection capabilities for commercial breeders and producers. Hear how InfiniSEEK™ provides insight into economically important traits of today and the novel traits to be defined in the future.

Gencove
"Sequencing as the Foundation for a Modern Agrigenomics"
Genome-wide sequence-based genotyping is enabled by Gencove’s high-throughput, cost-effective low-pass whole genome sequencing (LP-WGS) platform. In addition to LP-WGS and imputation software, Gencove developed a technology that simultaneously yields low-pass whole genome sequencing and high-coverage genotyping at targeted regions of interest. Gencove is focused on expanding the application of sequencing across the agrigenomics information chain. Dr. Hoff will provide a technical overview of the Gencove platform by describing the technology and validation data.

"High-throughput Sequencing for Applied Genomics At Scale"
Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) has been the backbone of Agrigenomics research for more than a decade, and high-throughput microarray platforms have enabled genotyping at a cost and scale required to apply this information to breeding programs. Innovative informatics approaches and improvements in sequencing workflows are now enabling the scale application of sequencing to crop and livestock improvement, and Illumina is at the forefront of innovation for tools to applied genomics. In this short talk we will detail the platforms and innovations that have helped make this possible.
