This live webinar, organised in collaboration with IGATech, will explore how Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) is advancing plant genomics.

Through four innovative and insightful case studies, we’ll look at how technologies like WGS, ddRAD, and SPET are being used in crop improvement, genetic mapping, and genome editing.

From the complex genome of Coffea arabica to the SABER project’s tomato breeding work, and EdiVite’s CRISPR-based grapevine development — you’ll learn how NGS is reshaping plant science.

The webinar will conclude with a live Q&A session, where you can ask the presenters questions about their research and experience applying NGS.

Agenda:

  • Introduction and overview of overview of Illumina applications for Agrigenomics
Andre Eggen, Global Director of Agrigenomics, Illumina
  • Large-scale plant genomics
    David Scaglione, CEO, IGATech
  • NGS for detecting naturally occurring chromosomal aberrations in coffee varieties
Gabriele Di Gaspero, Researcher, Institute of Applied Genomics
  • SABER: Cultivating Diversity to Feed the Future
Massimiliano Beretta, Head of Research, Panora S.p.A.
  • NGS for Quality Control of NGT-derived grapevine materials
Erica D’Incà, Project Manager at EdiVite s.r.l.
