24sure is a single channel microarray system for analyzing single cells or small numbers of cells for gains and losses of chromosomes known as aneuploidy. Cells used in this system can come from various stages of embryo development: polar body 1; polar body 2; blastomere biopsy from day 3 embryos; trophectodermal (TE) biopsy from blastocysts. Fluorescently labeled genomic DNAs are hybridized to immobilized probes on the 24sure microarray slide for the identification of regions of copy number imbalance. The aim of the test is to identify chromosomally normal or euploid embryos, with the rationale that euploid embryos are more likely to result in live births than aneuploid embryos, thereby improving IVF success rates. Preimplantation genetic screening (PGS) using 24sure microarrays has been extensively validated and used around the world and is the market-leading product for PGS.
