The world’s leading experts gathered at ECCMID 2017 to discuss the latest developments in infectious diseases, infection control, and clinical microbiology.  ECCMID is the annual congress of the European Society of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases (ESCMID) and has become Europe’s leading society in clinical microbiology and infectious diseases with a diverse, global membership. 

Illumina had the opportunity to learn how customers are using our technologies to advance research and human health. In partnership with Illumina, bioMérieux has a new service called EpiSeqTM which provides a high-level bacterial strain characterization that gives extremely precise information about the disease agents suspected to be involved in outbreaks that occur in hospitals, and how they are spread.

PathoQuest is a biotechnology company offering a metagenomics approach to improving the breadth of pathogen detection and has developed a metagenomic test using next-generation sequencing to identify microorganisms responsible for bloodstream infections in people.
