At Illumina, we’re committed to unlocking the power of the genome, and we know we can’t do it alone. Illumina for Startups is our way of accelerating innovation in the entrepreneurial community by partnering with leading venture capital investors and entrepreneurs to create, launch and grow genomics startups. Together, we're advancing breakthrough applications in genomics, including therapeutics, diagnostics, agriculture, synthetic biology, software and direct-to-consumer applications.

About Illumina for Startups Grants

Illumina for Startups Grants encourage entrepreneurs to build startups using next-generation sequencing. Awarded grant winners have the opportunity to work with selected Illumina sites to run proof-of-concept sequencing experiments. It’s a great way to help advance your genomics-driven startup.

*The grant is valid for 6 months from the date awarded. Applicants must incorporate their startup before arrival. Grant recipients are responsible for travel and accommodations.

Illumina Ventures is an independently managed venture fund in strategic partnership with Illumina. Illumina provides the majority of Illumina Ventures capital and access to the expertise and vision of the world's leading genomics solutions providers.

In 2023 Illumina Accelerator joined Illumina Ventures, relaunching as Illumina Ventures Labs. Illumina Ventures Labs builds on the foundation of the Accelerator operating in the San Francisco Bay Area since 2014 and Cambridge, UK since 2020.
