Key features and benefits

Simplified customization

Build your custom panel quickly and easily using DesignStudio Assay Design Tool, which features a simple user interface, robust algorithms, and dynamic feedback.

Content flexibility

Create a fully custom panel or add your targets of interest to a predesigned Ready-to-Use or Community Panel.

Custom DNA options

Design panels with up to 3072 amplicons per pool and 12,288 amplicons per panel for analysis of standard DNA or FFPE tissue.

Custom RNA options

Choose from 20,000 RefSeq genes to measure gene expression for as few as 12 to as many as 12,000 targets in a single assay.

Low-input sample types

Obtain high-quality data with high coverage uniformity even with minimal input from challenging sample types like formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue.

Fast library prep

Prepare an on-target, high-uniformity amplified library in as little as 5 hours with just 1.5 hours of hands-on time.

How AmpliSeq for Illumina Custom Panel design works

To create your AmpliSeq for Illumina Custom Panel, use DesignStudio Assay Design Tool to select parameters like assay type, species, sample type, and maximum amplicon length. Add your targets using genes or coordinates of interests. Targets can be selected based on preloaded reference genomes, or you can upload a custom reference genome.

To design your amplicons, an optimized algorithm considers a range of factors including GC content, specificity, and coverage. Candidate amplicons are visualized and assessed using estimated success scores. You can filter, add, or remove amplicons from your design. After visualization and QC, you can order your panel.
